What we store about Academy learners, why, and your rights under POPIA.
When you create an Academy account we store your name, email address, and optionally your organisation and country. As you learn we record your lesson progress, quiz and exam attempts (scores and answers), and any certificates issued to you. We do not store passwords — sign-in uses one-time email codes.
To run your training: track progress, enforce fair exam rules, and issue verifiable certificates carrying your name. If you separately opt in to product updates, we may contact you about MDM Studio; that choice is optional and independent of training. We also send certificate expiry reminders shortly before a credential lapses.
Certificates are publicly verifiable by their ID: anyone with your certificate ID can see your name, credential, issue/expiry dates and status. That visibility is the purpose of a verifiable credential.
You can delete your account and personal data at any time from My Academy. Deletion removes your personal details and sign-in immediately; issued certificates remain verifiable with your name replaced by a removal notice. For any privacy question or request, contact info@adaptivecanvas.co.za.
Questions you ask the study tutor are stored with your account to enforce fair-use limits and improve the material. If you request a hosted lab environment, your name, email, organisation and message are shared with our sales team so they can set you up — that is the purpose of the request.
Academy data is stored by Adaptive Canvas and is not otherwise sold or shared with third parties. Aggregate, non-identifying statistics (e.g. pass rates) may be used to improve the courses.
